Splink
verb. To casually mention your boyfriend or girlfriend in conversation, in order to show that you are not interested in the listener without making him or her lose face. The boyfriend or girlfriend can be real or imaginary.

I thought it was going to be a study-date, but she splinked me early on, so I guess we were just studying.
